Does Tweeter Polarity Matter?

I have always been very aware of polarity, but honestly thought it didn't really matter for tweeters - I was always primarily concerned with the bass being cancelled out. So this is just a friendly reminder that tweeter polarity is critical. If it is out of phase you will end up with a big hole.

With 1 tweeter playing, the only difference by reversing the polarity is the time arrival of the sound. When you install 2 tweeters with one out of phase with the other (both are from the same distance), you might hear a difference.

What happens if you wire tweeters backwards?

Mid-range frequencies are present in the bass and tweeter drivers. Reversed wiring causes dynamic stereo information to "collapse," making the music lose much of its impact.
