After leaving the WWF, Don began working for ECW under the name "Cyrus" acting as announcer and TNN "Network Representative". Cyrus formed a faction known as The Network, with Rhyno, Steve Corino, Tajiri and others.

While working for the WWF, Don's character the Jackal was supposed to turn up to play a large part in the Undertaker's Ministry of Darkness in order to coincide with a character from the Undertaker's comic book. The plans changed however and Don ened up being let go from the WWF.
