From there, he went on to work for a number of radio stations, but was repeatedly fired because he did not have his FCC Broadcaster's License. Eventually, he forged a license, and secured a position at WLS-FM in Chicago. He rose through the radio ranks and eventually took over the evening show at WBBM-FM. He subsequently took over the morning show for the station. He went back to broadcasting on the East Coast in the mid-80s, and began broadcasting as one half of the "Don and Mike Show" with Mike O'Meara. He retired from the show in 2008, and now serves as the Program Director for 1140 The Fan KHTK. He also occasionally appears on "Good Day Sacramento".
