As for her parents, her father, Mitch Whitmire, was a Washington state wrestling champion for the Panthers in 1980.

Growing up in Washougal, Emily was one of those unorganized kids, picking fights and kinds of stuff.

Equally important, she also was an adventurous kid, loving determination and fire. Later, while living with her grandparents, her grandfather introduced her to barrel racehorses.

Through the process of learning and trying out barrel racing alongside visiting the Skamania County Fair, she grew up way close with her grandfather.

Apparently, she had a dream to feature in the National Finals Rodeo as well.

Following it, her family moved to Camas, where she started her schooling at Dorothy Fox Elementary School.

Afterward, she again moved to Vancouver and got enrolled in Skyview High School. As a high schooler, she wasn’t athletic and wasn’t involved in sports or even wrestling.
