Katyana Kass is an actress and the daughter of Joan Collins. Katyana Kass’ mother is most famous for playing the role of vengeful schemer Alexis Carrington Colby in the soap opera “Dynasty” (1981-1989). In 1997, Collins was appointed an Officer of the Order of the British Empire (OBE) for services to drama. She is a recipient of a Golden Globe Award, a People’s Choice Award, two Soap Opera Digest Awards, and a Primetime Emmy Award nomination.

Katyana Kass’s father Ron Kass was a businessman, recording executive, manager of The Beatles, and film producer. He worked with at least four recording companies: Liberty, MGM, Warner Brothers, and Apple Records. His film-producing credits included Melody (1971), The Optimists (1973), Naked Yoga (1974) nominated for an Oscar for Best Documentary Short Subject, The Stud (1978), and The Bitch (1979) both based on novels by Jackie Collins, and starring her sister Joan Collins.

Her father passed away from cancer at the age of 51 with Collins at his bedside even though they were divorced. Collins is now married to Percy Gibson. She is 31 years older than him.

Katyana Kass was involved in an accident

In 1980, Joan Collins’ daughter, Katyana was involved in a near-fatal car accident when she was just 8 years old, per PEOPLE. The Royals alum recalled, “She was knocked down by a car and sustained very serious brain injuries and I was told that she was going to die. She was in a coma for a very long time.” The accident which her mother Collins described in the This Is Joan Collins documentary as the “worst thing that ever happened” to her.

According to the Land of the Pharaohs actress’ memoir, Passion for Life, the accident strained her marriage to Ron Kass because he began abusing drugs and alcohol around this time. The couple divorced in 1983 but remained close until his death in 1986, a few years later.
