Gregg Allman was born to Willis Turner Allman and Geraldine Robbins Allman. Raised by his mother after the murder of his father when he was two, the family moved to Daytona Beach, Florida. There, he started pursuing a career in music with his older brother, Duane. He matriculated in 1965 from Seabreeze High School and then attended Castle Heights Military Academy.
His career began in the 1960s when he and his brother formed the Allman Brothers Band, with Dickey Betts, Jai Johanny “Jaimoe” Johanson, Berry Oakley, and Butch Trucks. The band became popular in the early 1970s and was the main source of Gregg’s net worth. Despite his brother’s tragic death in 1971, Gregg continued with the band, dedicating the album “Eat A Peach” to his brother. The band released several albums and regrouped in 1978, adding to Gregg’s overall net worth.
In addition to his successful career with the band, Gregg also had a successful solo career, releasing six studio albums, some of which achieved gold certification and increased Gregg’s net worth significantly.
