Gtin - How to Discuss

GTIN

The GTIN (Global Trade Item Number) is part of the product feed. This is one of the characteristics necessary to uniquely identify a product. Google requires this for new products with a manufacturer-assigned GTIN. For more information about product feed attributes, see the Google Merchant Center Help article.

Where can I find the GTIN code?

The worldwide article number is used to uniquely identify the article. These are products or services that can be evaluated, ordered and, above all, invoiced. Depending on your geographic location, your number may vary slightly.

For example, in Europe it is a 13 digit number (EAN) and in North America it is a 12 digit number (UPC). The well-known ISBN that you will find on every book is also the World Trade Item Number.

GTIN and Google Ads

To show an ad in a Shopping campaign, you must first create an ad. Contains the required and optional product specifications used by Google. This data ensures that your ad is shown to users. The GTIN is a mandatory attribute for all new products to which the manufacturer has assigned a GTIN. However, for other products, this feature is optional (but highly recommended).
