Hao Zhu

Professional Background

In addition to his position as professor in the KU Department of Clinical Laboratory Sciences, Hao Zhu, Ph.D., also holds adjunct assistant professor positions in both the Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology and the Department of Physical Therapy and Rehabilitation Science at the University of Kansas Medical Center.

Zhu teaches graduate-level courses in molecular biotechnology and also serves in as a mentor through his work in PTRS 990: Dissertation in Rehabilitation Science. He is a member of the American Diabetes Association, the American Society of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology, the American Association for the Advancement of Science, and the International BioIron Society.

Academic Background
In 1987, Zhu received a bachelor's degree in biological engineering from Fudan University in Shanghai, China. At the University of Texas at Austin, he earned a doctorate from the Department of Zoology in 1994. He completed a post-doctoral fellowship from Harvard Medical School in 1999.
