Harry Maguire of Manchester United Ties the Knot with Fern Hawkins in a Surprise Registry Office Wedding

The defender for Manchester United, Harry Maguire, has wed his fiancée Fern Hawkins in a private ceremony in Cheshire.

According to The Mirror, Harry left the Man. United’s Carrington training ground on Thursday, May 12, and went directly to a registry office where Fern was waiting.

The details of the wedding were kept highly confidential, with even the guests being informed of the venue, Crewe Registry Office, via text on the same day.

Harry and Fern, both 29, have been together for the past ten years, having met as teenagers.

The couple, engaged since 2018, kept the ceremony details private, only sharing with their closest family and friends.

The publication reports that they are planning to have a second ceremony in France this summer.

Harry was joined at the ceremony by his parents Zoe and Alan, who traveled from their home near Sheffield.

A source revealed to the publication: ‘It was a closely guarded secret to all but their closest family and friends. They wanted to be officially married in the UK before they head to France. That will be a fairytale wedding day for Fern.’

Reportedly, Harry’s sister Daisy, 21, will be a bridesmaid at the lavish ceremony, set to be held at a chateau in Burgundy. His brothers Joe, 30, and Laurence, 25, will also be in attendance, along with his teammate Jordan Pickford, whose wife Megan Davison is set to be another bridesmaid.

Fern and Harry have been a couple since their teenage years, meeting in their hometown of Sheffield.

The couple has two daughters, Lillie Saint, three, and Piper Rose, two.

Fern announced their engagement in February 2018 after Harry surprised her with a proposal in Paris.
