The key to ultimately defeating the Scorchbeasts may lie in their very DNA.

Quest stages of Daily: Heart of the Enemy
1. Read Scribe Grant's terminal
The Scribe Grant's Terminal is located in one of the rooms on the fourth floor of the Fort Defiance building > Last Plea for 099-01 (Draft).
2. Learn more about Mission 099-01
The Brotherhood of Steel was looking for a way to identify the Scorchbeasts' weaknesses. It involved Mission 099-01. I need to find more information about that mission.
In another room on the same floor, find the Mission 099-01 Orders lying on the table.
3. Find the Automated Research Terminal
Mission 099-01 involves going to Vault-Tec University and wiring up one of their Automated Research Labs to find the weaknesses of the Scorchbeasts.
Go to Vault-Tec University, enter the building and find Automated Research Terminal > Passcode: !hOpe4FUTURE* > Execute automated test.
4. Power up the Automated Research Terminal
In order to research the Scorchbeasts at VTU, I first need to divert more power to the Automated Research Lab's equipment.
Find the Power Terminal > unlock it (no skill required) > Allocate power to Automated Research Lab.
5. Use the Automated Research Terminal
With the Automated Research Lab fully powered, now I might be able to find out how to conduct research on the Scorchbeasts.
Use the Automated Research Terminal again > Passcode: !hOpe4FUTURE* > Execute automated test.
6. Retrieve Viable Scorchbeast DNA
In order to research the weaknesses of the Scorchbeasts I need to collect pristine samples of Scorchbeast DNA.
You must now collect Scorchbeast DNA. The game will suggest where to go. However, you can collect DNA from any dead Scorchbeast, regardless of location (I obtained a DNA sample from the corpse of the Scorchbeast at the end of the Glassed Cavern. This Scorchbeast can't fly in the cave too much, so you fight with it mainly in close combat).
In order to Harvest DNA, you must approach the beast's corpse and use the appropriate button (space key on PC).
Bug: Sometimes even though Harvest DNA option is displayed on the screen, it is not possible to take a sample.
7. Put Scorchbeast DNA in Centrifuge
I've got a good sample of Scorchbeast DNA. Now I need to get to the Automated Research Lab and place the DNA in the centrifuge.
Return to Vault-Tec University and load sample into Automated Centrifuge.
8. Analyze Scorchbeast DNA
The Scorchbeast DNA is prepped. Now I just need to run the Automated Research Program so it can start to analyze it.
Use the Automated Research Terminal again > Passcode: !hOpe4FUTURE* > Execute automated test.
