How Do I Add Search Bar to Windows 8?
Contents

On the taskbar of Windows 8, make a right-click with your mouse. Select the option ‘Toolbars’ followed by a click on the option ‘Address’. This will add the search box on Windows 8 taskbar as seen in the below image. The address bar (or search box) appears on the right-hand side along with the system tray.

In Windows 8, the Charms bar’s Search command was integrated throughout Windows. If you wanted to search for something inside an app, you’d fetch the Charms bar, click the Search icon, and type in your keyword. Instead, in Windows 8.1 more apps come with a Search box built in to their upper-right corner.

Where will you find the search option in Windows 8?

Settings search can be reached from anywhere in Windows 8 by tapping WINKEY + W. (You can trigger this search type from the Start screen, Windows desktop, or from any Metro-style app.) Files search can be reached from anywhere in Windows 8 by tapping WINKEY + F.
