Owncloud

Seems to be a good solution for you. It worked for me for Ubuntu based operating systems and it provides an easy to install process which I reproduce over here for your convenience but have in mind that Owncloud provides enough information on their support site at: among other useful resources.

It is a self hosted service like a Dropbox account but hosted in your own server and with limits based on your home server's limits (hard disk drive space, microprocessor speed and memory amount).

It looks like a too difficult install process but it is as easy as downloading a single file, place it in your public html folder and write the proper address in the web browser's address bar. The next are pure instruction's webáges after which you'll have it installed.

I own an already installed Owncloud service in both a home and web servers. If you wish I can provide you an account in order to you check the properties of the Owncloud.

Installation Wizard

When ownCloud prerequisites are fulfilled and all ownCloud files are installed on the server, the last step to complete the installation is running the Installation Wizard. Open your Web browser to your new ownCloud installation.

• If you are installing ownCloud on the same machine as you are accessing the install wizard from, the URL will be , or if you have enabled SSL.
• If you are installing ownCloud on a different machine, you’ll have to access it by its hostname or IP address, e.g. .

• If you are using a self-signed certificate, you will be presented with a security warning about the issuer of the certificate not being trusted which you can ignore.
