1. Reboot the computer to release any locks on the profile.
2. Log on with an administrative account.
3. Navigate to the C:Users folder.
4. Rename the user profile with the word “.old” at the end of it.

How do I clean up a profile in Windows 7?

You can do it with the User Profiles dialog in System Properties:

1. Log in as different user (with admin privileges) than you want to delete.
2. Open Properties for Computer.
3. Advanced system settings (on the left side)
4. Settings for User Profiles (in the middle)
5. Select the profile you want to delete and click the delete button.
