If you have had this unfortunate experience, you may have many questions about why, when and how mice may have gained entry to your stove. Mice can squeeze, climb and/or crawl into small openings around your house, including the stove in order to search for food and/or shelter.
How do mice get in your kitchen?
With the exception of sticky traps, all mouse traps require bait of some kind. Peanut butter is by far the most common bait, but you can also use chocolate, cheese, bird seed or nuts to lure mice into the trap.
How do you keep mice out of appliances?
Use a pesticide or home remedy deterrent. Peppermint oil is a strong rat deterrent that humans (usually) find pleasant. Soak a few cotton balls in peppermint oil then place them strategically around your appliance. You will need to replace them when the smell fades.
