How Do You Become a Cheer Captain

The first step to becoming a cheerleading captain is being able to perform all of the choreography, stunts, tumbles and jumps with perfect precision. The rest of the team will be looking to you to a) set the example and b) actually be able to teach the moves needed in that specific choreography.

1. Just because you’re an upperclassman doesn’t mean you’re entitled to a captain position, and just because you’re a freshman doesn’t mean you’re automatically ruled out. The athletes with the best attitudes and most leadership traits win out.

How many captains are on a cheer team?

The cheer coach will select the co-captains. There will be no less than 2 co-captains and no more than 4 co-captains selected. If the co- captain(s) do not properly fulfill their duties, the student will be removed from the co-captain leadership role.
