Poke a hole in the bottle cap using wooden skewer. Fill with water, making sure you get a slow drip of water through the hole with skewer in it. Put in your flower or vegetable planter, making sure skewer is in the dirt to hold the bottle. Great for hanging planters to keep them watered!
Do water spikes really work?

Fill the bucket with water all the way to the top. Wait for the water to drain slowly into the tree’s soil. When the bucket is empty, move it halfway around the tree and repeat the process. If you want, you can use two buckets on either side of the tree to save time.
