Where can I find screenshots in Linux?

screenshot is a default application for taking screenshots on Gnome desktop. To take screenshot simply hit PrtSc button on your keyboard and the screenshot of your entire desktop will be taken and saved as *. png file inside your ~/Pictures directory.

How do you take a screenshot in Unix?

You can invoke it by doing one of the following:

  1. Select the Applications > Accessories > Take Screenshot menu command.
  2. Press the Print Screen key (sometimes abbreviated as PrtSc).
  3. Press the Alt-Print Screen key combination.
  4. Use the command line.
