How Do You Win Quidditch

A Quidditch match is not won by a set amount of points but by the team that has the most points when the Golden Snitch is caught. The team that catches the snitch is awarded 30 points and whichever team has the most points after that is declared the winner.

How does a Quidditch match end?

Quidditch is a full contact game and players can use force against each other in an attempt to capture the Quaffle or prevent other players scoring a goal. Throughout the game, the Seeker from each team’s sole duty is to capture the Golden Snitch and once this is done, the game ends.

Can Quidditch be won without catching the snitch?

Can you win Quidditch without catching a snitch? Yes, but catching the snitch almost always guarantees a win, due to the 150 point bonus from catching it. There are examples in the books (such as the Quidditch World Cup) where the team that catches the snitch still loses the match.
