How Does a Pig Signaller Work?

A pig signaller or pig detector comprises of the following parts: A trigger which penetrates the bore of the pipe and moves when touched by the passing pig. A mechanism which transfers the movement of the trigger within the pipeline to the flag or to an electric circuit on the outside.

What is intrusive pig signaller?

Pig signallers detect, signal and log the passage of pigs at critical points along a pipeline.

How does a pig detector work?

The pig detectors sense the pigs magnetic field, which provides an ultra-reliable signal as the pig passes. When the device detects the presence of a pig, it also lights an LED. This provides an accurate, clear and colour-coded visual indication to the system operator of the pig's presence.
