Similar to simple shut-off system, upon a fall in space temperature, VAV systems with terminal reheat reduce the volume of the air to the space. However, once a predetermined minimum airflow is reached, heat is added to the air prior to delivery to the space.
How does VAV reheat work?
Typical VAV with Reheat System The supply air temperature is held constant at 55°F. When a zone falls below its set point, the damper closes and reheat is enabled. When a zone is above its set point, the damper opens fully to allow as much 55°F air as possible into the zone to cool the space quickly.
How does a reheat valve work?
HOT GAS REHEAT uses the high pressure, high temperature, compressor discharge gas to reheat the air leaving the evaporator coil. This is achieved by running the gas through a hot gas reheat coil using hot gas reheat valves.
