Repaglinide is used together with diet and exercise to treat high blood sugar (glucose) levels in patients with type 2 diabetes. Repaglinide works by causing your pancreas to release more insulin into the blood stream.

How long does it take for Prandin to work?

Repaglinide starts to work in 30 minutes to an hour. Its effect lasts for a few hours. Can repaglinide cause hypoglycemia? Repaglinide can cause low blood sugar (hypoglycemia).

Can you take Prandin after you eat?

Take a dose before each of your main meals (usually breakfast, lunch and dinner). The best time to take repaglinide is 15 minutes before your meal, but you can take it at any time within the 30-minute period before your meal. If you miss a meal, do not take a tablet.
