How Long Does a Wisc Take

Subtests included on the WISC Test may be given online or one-on-one using manipulatives, depending on the reason your child is being assessed. Typically, the full exam takes 65-80 minutes depending on the number of primary and secondary subtests given.

Is the WISC-IV timed?

Coding is a timed core Processing Speed subtest. For children aged 6-7 the test is picture based.

How often can WISC be administered?

The tests are designed to capture current cognitive abilities. Applicants may only take the Wechsler Scales once in 12 months. If the results are more than 2 years old, or have been provided for two admissions cycles, the applicant will need to take the evaluation again.
