How Small Should a Gif Be?
Contents

Uploads are limited to 100MB, although we recommend 8MB or less. Source video resolution should be 720p max, but we recommend you keep it at 480p.

What is the size of a GIF?

With animated GIFs, file size really is <resolution> X <# of frames>. So for example, a GIF of 1,000 pixels high x 800 pixels wide x 200 frames = 800,000 pixels x 200 frames = 160,000,000 bytes (160MB!).

What width and height should a GIF be?

Keep your image size under 480 pixels in width and height. Keep the number of frames under ten.
