How Thick Is Parging

The parging material consists of portland cement, sand and other aggregates. The sand gives the cement its stickiness — it can be applied up to 2 inches thick, although a 1/2-inch coat is generally sufficient.

How thick can parging be applied?

Designed for parging concrete blocks or poured concrete to level fill imperfections up to ⅜″ deep. Can be used above or below grade. Surfaces must be structurally sound. Remove all sand, dirt, dust, paint, etc.

What material is used for parging?

Parging cement consists of sand and Portland cement, sometimes called a sand mix. The mix becomes a sticky substance when you add water. The product’s consistency must be sticky so it solidifies onto a vertical structure without sliding down.
