In the fixed hair method of tacheometric surveying, the instrument employed for taking observations consist of a telescope fitted with two additional horizontal cross hairs one above and the other below the central hair. These are placed equidistant from the central hair and are called stadia hairs.
What are the methods of tacheometry?
- The Stadia System. Fixed Hair Method. Movable Hair Method, or Subtense Method.
- The Tangential System.
- Measurements by means of Special Instruments.
What is the basic principle of tacheometry?
The main principle of Tacheometry is based on the basic principle of isosceles triangle. In any two side equal triangle means isoceles triangle, there is one property which is used in the Tacheometry. Ratio of the perpendicular to vertex on their base and their base is always constant in isoceles triangle.
