In Windows 10 and Windows 8.1, you can minimize or maximize apps from the taskbar app preview.

Hover your cursor over the app that you want to maximize or minimize.

After a short while, you should get a preview of the app, just like in the screenshot below.

Right-click or tap and hold on the app preview.

How do you minimize a screen using the keyboard?

Steps

  • Look for the “Exit full-screen” button.
  • Press Esc to exit full-screen.
  • Use the Windows key ( ⊞ Win ) to display the taskbar.
  • Press ⊞ Win + M to minimize all open windows.
  • Press Ctrl + Alt + Del to interrupt the program.
  • Manually shut down your computer.

How do you minimize a window?

To minimize current window – hold Windows Key and press down arrow key. To maximize the same window (if you did not move on to any other window) – hold Windows Key and press up arrow key. Another way is to invoke the control box menu by pressing Alt+Space Bar and then press “n” for minimize or “x” for maximize.
