According to the authorities, Taylor was hurt while floating in an inner tube when he was discovered injured on Saturday, September 2, close to a busy intersection about 8 miles east of the Las Vegas Strip.

The boy apparently died the following day after being transported to Sunrise Hospital. The official cause of death was drowning.

The kid had gone outside in the rain when he was washed away in the water and ended up stuck underneath a car, according to a GoFundMe page set up by Ryan’s family in the wake of his death.

The petition, which has gathered more than $6,000, stated that paramedics arrived on the scene and attempted to revive Ryan before rushing him to the hospital. The teenager apparently lost unexpectedly early on Sunday morning at Sunrise Hospital, despite their best efforts to save him. Irene, Ryan’s mother, wrote on the page she created:

“Hello, my name is Irene, and I’m here making a GoFundMe for my son Ryan James Taylor. Who was taken from us so fast? Ryan was such an amazing kid. He was so helpful with his siblings and had such a big heart.”

Las Vegas flooding

The airport reported 2.55 inches of rain on Sunday, according to the National Weather Service. People on X (formerly Twitter) were told to remain off the roads by the Las Vegas Fire and Rescue. They also mentioned that over the weekend, they responded to 24 calls for swift water rescues.

As the storm tore through the arena, the flooding forced Burning Man visitors to seek refuge. The Las Vegas Review-Journal reports that the Burning Man visitors were left trapped in Nevada after authorities shut the entry due to heavy weather.

The gathering’s participants were advised to seek refuge nearby and to save food, water, and other resources.

“Due to recent rainfall, the Bureau of Land Management and the Pershing County Sheriff’s Office officials have closed the entrance to Burning Man for the remainder of the event. Please avoid traveling to the area; you will be turned around. All event access is closed.”

According to the Associated Press, citing the National Weather Service, more than one-half inch of rain fell on the festival site on Friday.
