As is the case with many online RPGs (particularly Blizzard RPGs), quests are going to be the main bulk of what you'll be doing in Diablo 4 throughout its main campaign. And, with the high number of optional side quests available, it can be difficult to keep them all in check — especially if you don't know where to go to get a recap of their objectives.
Luckily, Diablo 4 has added multiple ways to set which quest you want to track, making the process as convenient as possible. Whether you want to really get into each quest's unique story and go for the ones you find most interesting, or you simply what to easily see your progress on screen, it's important to know the different ways that you can assess and track your quests.
Using The In-Game Map
The first way to track your quests is directly on the map. A nice quality-of-life feature in Diablo 4 is that every side quest you accept has its designated area set up on the map automatically. In order to track a quest via the map, you simply need to move your cursor to one of these designated areas (side quest areas will be highlighted in blue, while main quest areas will be highlighted in yellow), and press the 'Track' button.

Using Your In-Game Journal
Your journal (which is Diablo's name for your quest log) can be surprisingly easy to miss in this game. Unlike some other titles that have a designated button for the quest log, or a tab inside another menu, Diablo 4's Journal is hidden on the right side of the map screen and can only be opened from there. Once you open the map, press Left on the d-pad for console players, and Q for PC players.
The journal is particularly useful for players who want to be reminded of a quest's premise. It gives a much more detailed explanation about each quest than the map does (which simply tells you the objective), so if you really want to get into Diablo's story and understand the context of what you're doing, then the journal is a must. Click on any of the quests on your Journal, and it will become your tracked quest.
