How to Use Multi Flash Mode?

On the display, you'll see the “Multi:” on the bottom right. The first number is how many times the flash will fire, the second number is how many times per second the flash will fire (the hertz). To change the settings, press the Hz/FN button to make the numbers flash.

How do I use an external flash in manual mode?

So the steps are straightforward:
  1. Find your composition.
  2. Get your ambient exposure correct through your F stop and shutter speed settings.
  3. Set your flash to manual mode and set the power to 1/1.
  4. Use a colored gel to alter the color of the flash if desired.

What does Hz mean on a flash?

If something is occurring at 1 hertz it means that it is repeating once per second. So if we set a flash to fire at 6 hertz it means the flash is firing at a rate of 6 times per second. If we set the fire the flash at 12 hertz it means the flash is firing 12 times per second.
