When I stepped foot into Target this past Tuesday, I expected to leave with a bottle of body wash — not an entire fashion haul. But of course, once I saw the store’s clothing section, I couldn’t resist taking a peek at its new winter collections. Before I knew it, I was sifting through racks, selecting an array of comfy pieces to try on.

As a shopping writer, it usually surprises people that I don’t buy clothes often, especially in person. Trying on outfits in horribly-lit dressing rooms isn’t exactly enticing, but I was willing to face my fears to see the pieces on me before buying them. Target shoppers and I agree: this is the “perfect holiday dress.” The mini dress exudes winter charm with its cheeky off-the-shoulder silhouette and cozy fabric. It clings in all the right places, accentuating my curvy figure without showing off too much tummy. Plus, the dress is so comfortable that I’ve been wearing it around the house like it’s loungewear, and I plan to dress it up with knee-high boots, a statement belt, and pearl earrings for upcoming holiday parties.

There’s no such thing as owning too many layers this time of year.
