In Hinduism, it has been said that if your coconut gets spoiled during worship, it means that God has accepted your Prasad on its own and due to this your coconut has become dry due to breaking. So if your coconut comes out dry from inside, then there is no need to worry. Do not panic at all.

How do you tell if a coconut is spoiled?

They should look clean and brown, not light-colored and dusty or show any signs of green mold around them. Any coconuts with such issues will usually be sour at best, completely rotten at worst.

Can we use spoiled coconut?

Coconut doesn't have an expiration date per se. That means there is no specific date when you should throw it away. Still, consuming the spoiled and rotten coconut meat can lead to stomach ache, diarrhea, and vomiting. Always look for any cracks on the overripe coconut since they can cause meat bacterial infection.
