Michael Jordan has racked up plenty of accolades over his storied career in basketball, business, and beyond. In addition to his six titles, plethora of hoops records, and (barely) debatable GOAT status, he's also the first NBA player to officially eclipse the billion-dollar threshold, with Forbes most recently valuing his net worth at a staggering $2.1 billion.
As a result, Michael Jordan has also accrued an impressive real estate record as the owner of multiple multi-million dollar residences. Let’s take a tour through His Airness’ stateside cribs.
Chicago
In the Chicago suburbs, Michael Jordan owns a a 7.39 acre, 56,000 square foot property with an infinity pool, putting green (with Jordan Brand flag sticks), tennis court, multiple outdoor spaces, and, oh yeah, a 32,000 square foot home. The house features nine bedrooms, 19(!) bathrooms, and a giant “23” welded onto the gate of the driveway.
It also has a full-court basketball gym complete with a Jumpman logo at center court (surrounded by Jordan’s children names), a pond, multiple lounges and media rooms, a fully-stocked bar, and a modern, open-space design.
To the surprise of nobody, Jordan also installed a cigar room with customized card tables. The doors to the game room came from the original Playboy Mansion in Chicago.
However, this house — which was Jordan’s primary residence for years until 2007 — will end up resulting in a rare loss for Jordan. The mega-property has been on the market since 2012 and currently has a price tag worth $14.9 million — nearly 30 times the 2019 median home price in the Highland Park area. Jordan will undoubtedly take a major loss on the investment, if and when he does find a buyer.
According to Business Insider, Jordan may be struggling to offload the property due to the various personalized features. The Chicago Bulls icon custom-built the property for his specific taste, which, if his fashion choices are any indication, may be…an acquired one:
“It’s clearly his home,” realtor Bruce Bowers told Business Insider. “There’s a lot of work that would have to be done to make it your own.”
Originally, Jordan put his Highland Park property on sale for $29 million.

In addition to owning North Carolina’s only NBA team, the Charlotte Hornets, Michael Jordan also owns two lavish properties in his home state.
He owns a lakefront villa in Cornelius at Jetton Park on Lake Norman that he purchased for $2.8 million in 2013 (despite its initial $3.49 million listing). The home includes six bedrooms and is located on the Peninsula golf course — a luxury country club. The property is 22 miles from the Spectrum Center, where the Hornets play their home games. The home itself is 12,301 square feet, with exterior winding staircases, an outdoor pool, and a private dock with lake access.
MJ’s portfolio also includes a luxury condominium in downtown Charlotte on N. Tryon Street, walking distance from the Spectrum Center. In fact, the space makes up the entirety of the seventh floor Penthouse at the Trust Condos — equaling about 7,0000 square feet. The building is a refurbished modernist structure with elements of Japanese architecture. There’s a roof terrace with a glass canopy for private sunbathing, an outdoor kitchen, and 360 degree views of the city.
Former Charlotte Bobcat Boris Diaw and ex-Carolina Panthers quarterback Cam Newton also own condos at the Trust.
