What kind of fish is a Loach?

Loaches are fish of the superfamily Cobitoidea. They are freshwater, benthic (bottom-dwelling) fish found in rivers and creeks throughout Eurasia and northern Africa. Loaches are among the most diverse groups of fish; the 1249 known species of Cobitoidea comprise about 107 genera divided among 9 families.

Can Loach live with catfish?

Loaches and Pictus are good together, but only if they are about the same size. I would not have the catfish in with small fish like neons or tiger barbs because they are small enough to gobble up ..... I had heard that I would be in danger of losing small fish to the pictus.
