Is Anhidrosis a Disability?

Idiopathic generalized anhidrosis is a rare disease characterized by sweating impairment despite exposure to heat or exercise.

Is anhidrosis a disorder?

Anhidrosis is the inability to sweat normally. When you don't sweat (perspire), your body can't cool itself, which can lead to overheating and sometimes to heatstroke — a potentially fatal condition. Anhidrosis — sometimes called hypohidrosis — can be difficult to diagnose. Mild anhidrosis often goes unrecognized.

Is hyperhidrosis classed as a disability?

Because hyperhidrosis does not have a disability listing, the SSA will have to determine if the symptoms of your illness prevent you from doing your past work and any other work in the U.S. If the SSA decides there is any work you can still do, you will be denied.
