Is Bios or Uefi Better?
Contents

BIOS uses the Master Boot Record (MBR) to save information about the hard drive data while UEFI uses the GUID partition table (GPT). Compared with BIOS, UEFI is more powerful and has more advanced features. It is the latest method of booting a computer, which is designed to replace BIOS.

What are the advantages of using a UEFI BIOS?

Benefits of UEFI boot mode over Legacy BIOS boot mode include:

  • Support for hard drive partitions larger than 2 Tbytes.
  • Support for more than four partitions on a drive.
  • Fast booting.
  • Efficient power and system management.
  • Robust reliability and fault management.

Is UEFI good for gaming?

You should reinstall it into UEFI, but only if the sole reason you’re doing it is better frames (mainly because there will be none). ummmmm so no improved fps in uefi then? No improved fps, so no actual gain in reinstalling into UEFI. Don’t do it if the only reason is that you want better fps.
