Is It Necessary to Grease Silicone Bakeware

Generally, good old greasing is not really necessary with silicone molds. However, using cooking sprays or even greasing before baking and cooking can make your life a lot easier when it comes to washing them later on. Think of this as a means of prevention – you’ll spend much less time doing the dishes afterward.

How do you keep a cake from sticking to a silicone Mould?

You can use oil and a towel, then buff it shiny. The oil helps the non stick. If you let items set and rise in your silicone pan, then remove to a cooler spot just prior to baking. Otherwise a sticky sludge forms inside the pan making your dough stick.

How do you get cupcakes out of silicone cups?

Even though we don’t think silicone is the magic baker’s bullet anymore, these individual cups are nice. Once your cupcakes have cooled for at least 15 minutes, gently depress the bottom of the cupcake liner and carefully peel the sides away, effectively turning the cupcake liner inside out. It should come away easily.
