Is Mef Agl or Msl

When planning your flight remember that the MEF and OROCA are listed in msl and ceilings are in agl.

What is MEF on a sectional chart?

The Maximum Elevation Figure (MEF) represents the highest elevation within a quadrant, including terrain and other vertical obstacles (towers, trees, etc.). A quadrant on Sectionals is the area bounded by ticked lines dividing each 30 minutes of latitude and each 30 minutes of longitude.

How do I find my MSL AGL?

Sectional charts normally show both mean sea level (MSL) and above ground level (AGL) heights for towers. Next to the tower, you’ll see two numbers. The top number is the height in MSL and the bottom number — in parentheses — is the height of the tower in AGL.
