Is Microlithiasis Painful

Testicular microlithiasis is a condition of unknown aetiology where calcium deposits form in the lumina of seminiferous tubules or arise from the tubular basement membrane components. The microliths are asymptomatic, do not cause pain, and are so small that they are impalpable.

However, studies involving healthy participants with no symptoms show that testicular microlithiasis is much more common than is testicular cancer. As a result, researchers believe that testicular microlithiasis is unlikely to increase the risk of testicular cancer in someone who is otherwise healthy.
