Whether Peacemaker is 'crazy' is dependent on which incarnation is being considered. The original Gill-era Peacemaker seems relatively sane, all things considered. He had a bizarre, hypocritical stance on violence being bad - unless it serves his purpose.
Is Peacemaker a villain or hero?
Peacemaker, otherwise known as Christopher Smith, debuted as a pacifist hero in the pages of Charlton Comics in 1966. The Fightin' 5 #40 introduced a character who tried to keep the world safe with violent but non-lethal actions.
Other Characteristics. Mental Disorder: Peacemaker suffered from bipolar disorder and possibly schizophrenia, believing that the souls of people he killed inhabited his helmet and spoke to him. He was also plagued by hallucinations of his dead father egging him on to violence.
