Do surcharges still exist?
That fee, called a “surcharge,” allows the merchant to recoup the additional processing costs associated with accepting card payments. While surcharging has become a common practice in many places, it is illegal in several jurisdictions, including Colorado, Connecticut, Kansas, Maine, and Massachusetts.
Did Texas do away with the point system?
Effective September 1, 2019, the Texas Point System is abolished, all outstanding Surcharges will be waived, and driver licenses suspended for non-payment of Surcharges will be immediately eligible for reinstatement. The changes in the law impact all drivers in Texas including CDL drivers!
