In 1984, Calmes founded Syncrolite, considered one of the foremost entertainment/architectural light manufacturers in the world.He also holds a pair of United States patents, managed Rock and Roll Hall of Famer Freddie King and multi-platinum rock band Bloodrock, and in 1980, he founded the Forever Fabulous Chickenhawks Showband & All-Revue.
