Jacksonville Man, Dalton Penkacik, Killed in Hit-and-Run, Three Months After Brother’s Similar Fate

In an unfortunate turn of events, 25-year-old Dalton Penkacik lost his life in a hit-and-run accident early on Friday morning on Blanding Boulevard. Alarmingly, this tragedy comes just three months after the Penkacik family lost their younger son, Brighton, in a similar accident.

Dalton was on his way to work at an Amazon delivery center when he was struck by a vehicle in the 4500 block of Blanding Boulevard around 1:15 a.m. The hit-and-run driver fled the scene, leaving Dalton fatally injured.

This heartbreaking incident echoes the tragic loss of 12-year-old Brighton Penkacik, Dalton’s younger brother, who was also struck and killed by a vehicle three months ago. These two devastating incidents have left the Penkacik family and the broader Jacksonville community in shock and mourning.
