Jessica Steen is the daughter of actress Joanna Neyes and director also an actor father Jan Steen. Although she is of Canadian nationality, her heritage is of Dutch and Scottish ancestry. She started her acting career through television dramas. At the age of eight, she was cast in the Canadian children series The Sunrunners, along with her mom. She has won the Gemmy Award, Canadian version of Emmy Award for best actress in 1994.
