Keith David - Mobygames

Born in New York City's Harlem in 1954 and raised in Queens, Keith David soon discovered his talent for acting and pursued an education at the High School of Performing Arts and at Julliard. After graduating, he performed in major stage plays and Broadway musicals. In 1982, he stepped onto the big screen in John Carpenter's The Thing (1982). David became known to a broad public with his role as ghetto draftee King in Oliver Stone's Vietnam movie Platoon (1986). Since then, he has amassed an impressive record as a supporting actor, with appearances in films as diverse as the action blockbuster Armageddon (1998), the comedy There's Something About Mary (1998) or the highly praised drug drama Requiem for a Dream (2000).

Beside his ongoing work as an actor in the movies as well as on stage, Keith David is a frequent guest to US TV audiences. David's voice appears in quite a few TV series, such as Disney's Aladdin and Hercules, as a narrator for National Geographic documentaries and various mini-series.

Voice acting brought Keith David in contact with computer games on multiple occasions, starting with Interplay who cast him for role-playing game voiceovers. In Fallout, David dubbed the Hub's gangster boss Decker (and worked alongside well-known actors such as Richard Dean Anderson (MacGyver, Stargate) and Ron Perlman. Two years later, David was the sinister suit of armor Vhailor in Planescape Torment. He went on to build an impressive resume in the game industry, with credits on over 30 games.
