Kevin Hart Provides Update on Will Smith Following Oscars Incident

Actor Kevin Hart has shared an update on Will Smith’s current state after the Oscars incident involving Chris Rock.

Hart explained that his friend still feels apologetic for the incident but is eager to move forward and not dwell on the past following the altercation with Chris Rock on stage over a joke about Smith’s wife, Jada Pinkett Smith.

According to Kevin, “Will is apologetic, you know, he’s in a better space, of course, than what he was after,” as per Entertainment Tonight.

Following the incident, Smith reportedly sought spiritual healing in India and has maintained a low public profile since then.

It is unclear if Smith has made any attempts to reconcile with Rock, who is rumored to be dating actress Lake Bell.

Kevin emphasized, “People are human and as humans sometimes we make mistakes. So it’s not about talking about the past, it’s about acknowledging the present and doing your best to move forward.”

Kevin also expressed his hope for reconciliation between Smith and Rock, stating, “I can only hope that the two of them find a way to find some solace in that and move past it.”

He added, “I just like good energy. I love to see people be the best.”

“I still love him, I still love Chris, and, you know, you can’t judge a person by one thing. Ultimately, life goes on and people grow, so give him the opportunity to do so,” Kevin Hart further commented.

Will Smith, who has been married to Jada since 1997, previously described his behavior at the Oscars as ‘shocking, painful, and inexcusable’ and resigned from the Academy after issuing an apology.

In light of his actions, the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences announced a 10-year ban on Smith from attending their events, both virtually and in person.
