Buzz Williams is an American Basketball head coach for Texas A&M. He joined his previous team in early April 2019 after completing five memorable coaching years at Virginia Tech.
Buzz Williams Bio & Family
The coach was born on 1 September 1972 as Brent Langdon “Buzz” Williams in Greenville, Texas. His parents, a police father, and a teaching mother separated when Buzz was at an early age.
Buzz went to the Oklahoma City University to obtain his bachelor’s degree in kinesiology in 1994. Further to complete his master’s degree, he attended Texas A&M University–Kingsville for graduation in 1999.

The 46-year old first coaching role was of an assistant for Texas Arington between 1994 to 1998. After his contract expiry with Arington, Buzz went as the same role at Texas A&M University–Kingsville for a year in 1998. Likewise, he earned a remunerative salary as a coach for Northwestern State (1999- 2000), Colorado State (2000-2004), Texas A&M (2004-2006) and New Orleans (2006-2007).
After two long decades, Buzz got the head coaching role at Virginia Tech on 21 March 2014. After two successful tenure at Tech, the team signed him on a contract extension until 2022-2023 season on 13 July 2016.
An extended five years of Buzz’s season with Tech came to an end from his social media post.
