Carmelo Anthony is an American professional basketball player who recently played for the Houston Rockets of the National Basketball Association (NBA). Carmelo Kyam Anthony was born on 29 May 1984 to parents Carmelo Iriarte and Mary Anthony. He grew up with two brothers, Robert, and Wilford, and a half-sister, Daphne in Brooklyn, New York City.

Anthony attended Oak Hill Academy in Virginia. Afterward, he moved to Syracuse University and played basketball during the 2002–03 season. He stands at a height of 6 feet 8 in (2.03 meters) and his listed weight is 240 pounds (109 kg).

Carmelo began his NBA career from the Denver Nuggets, joining in 2003. He played for seven seasons for the Nuggets and led to their first Conference Finals appearance since 1985. Moreover, in 2011, he was traded to the New York Knicks before the NBA trade deadline.

Anthony made a career-high stats of scoring 62 points, setting a Knicks‘ single-game scoring record and a Madison Square Garden single-game scoring record in the game against the Charlotte Bobcats in January 2014. Later, the Knicks traded him to the Oklahoma City Thunder in 2017, where he played a single season. In 2018, he joined Houston Rockets and played until 2019.
