The 22-years-of-age player was born as Daniel Jones on 27 May 1997 in Charlotte, North Carolina, the United States. He is the oldest son of Steve Jones and Becca Jones. Daniel has an older sister named Becca, who played field hockey at Davidson College. Besides, his younger brother, Bates, plays basketball at Davidson and his younger sister, Ruthie, plays soccer at Duke. 

Standing tall at the height of 6 feet and 5 inches (1.96 m), Daniel attended Charlotte Latin School in Charlotte, North Carolina. There he ringed his amateur career. He later graduated from Duke University with a degree in economics in 2018.

Career Stats

The young player committed to Duke University to play college football after receiving an offer from them. After redshirting in his first year, he became the starting quarterback in his sophomore season in 2016. Starting in 12 games, he completed 270 of 430 passes for 2,836 yards, sixteen touchdowns, and nine interceptions.

Later on, he played in the 2019 Senior Bowl for the North team and also earned the MVP title of that game going 8/11 with 115 passing yards and one touchdown. A promising college performance decorated Daniel with the place in the National Football League. He was selected by the New York Giants as the sixth overall pick in the first round of the 2019 NFL Draft.
