The American artistic gymnast, Katelyn Ohashi, age 22, is the winner of the 2011 junior national championship and 2013 American cup. She was recently awarded the ESPY Awards for the Best Viral Sports Moment.
Katelyn Ohashi started gymnastics since the young age of three. Since then, she has claimed many junior and senior championships to her name.

The 23-years-of-aged gymnast was born as Katelyn Michelle Ohashi on 12 April 1997 in Seattle, Washington, the United States. She is among the four children of her parents, Richard Ohashi and Diana Ohashi. Katelyn’s mother, Diana is a former high school gymnast. She is of German and Japanese descent from her parents’ side.
The young athlete shares a sibling bond with her three older brothers: Ryan, Kyle, and Kalen. She moved to Kansas City, Missouri with her mother and brother Kalen in 2006. Three years later, the family again relocated to Plano, Texas.

Standing tall at the height of 5 feet and 1 inch (1.51 m), Katelyn attended Spring Creek Academy. She later graduated from Plano Senior High School in 2015. Subsequently, she attended the University of California, Los Angeles in the fall of 2015 and majored in gender studies in 2019.
Katelyn’s career-high came when she made her debut on the national gymnastics scene at the 2009 Junior Olympic National Championships. She later bagged silver medals in the all-around and on bars, beam, and floor at the junior division of the 2010 U.S. Classic in Chicago.
She became a junior national
champion in 2011 and registered the American Cup win two years later. Katelyn
left the gymnastic field till 2015 due to two torn shoulders and a spine injury
that required surgery.

After the return, she dropped from elite competition back to Level 10. Katelyn then joined the UCLA Bruins gymnastics team for the 2015-2016 season. She became trending on social platforms in January 2019 for her perfect 10 scores at the 2019 Collegiate Challenge. It was the fourth perfect 10 floor routine of her career.
