The 39-years-of age actor was born as Nyambi Nyambi Jr. on 26 April 1979, in Norman, Oklahoma. He is one of the three children of his Nigerian parents: Nyambi Nyambi Sr. and Atai Nyambi. His other two siblings are sisters, Eyang, and Bassey.

As of his education, Nyambi joined Oakton High School in Fairfax County, Virginia. Meanwhile, he attended Bucknell University, where he was also a Division I basketball player. Following that, Nyambi earned his Master of Fine Arts degree in acting at New York University prior to attending the University of Oklahoma for his second master’s degree.
With the tall height of 6 feet and a half-inch (1.84m), he carries American nationality and belongs to the African ethnic group.

Nyambi’s acting debut came as an Organizer on Julia Loktev-directed 2006 thriller Day Night Day Night when he was 27. Three years later, he appeared as Nancy in 16 minutes-long drama Translucent. Following that, Nyambi appeared as Jackson Early in one of the episodes of the finale season of crime/drama Law & Order titled ‘Four Cops Shot’ in 2010.

Nyambi’s big break came as Samuel on CBS sitcom Mike & Molly, which aired from 2010 to 2016. The Nigerian-origin actor was a significant part of the show with 118 of 127 episodes under his belt. As a result of his successful career transition, he bagged the role of Jay Dipersia in the 2017-aired crime/drama The Good Fight. His recent acting credential came as a voice of Martial Manhunter in the 2019 Animated feature Reign of the Supermen.
